Track Coordinator Janet Bywater I joined ELR in 2016 to benefit from training in a group and because my partner said it was the friendliest club around. Over the years I've loved pulling on the red vest and have now joined the committee to be able to give something back to the club.
Social Secretary Ann Dunne I joined ELR in 2022 and have found a great sense of belonging in running as part of a local, friendly and inclusive club. Having been born in Whitechapel and now living in Woodford, East London is home and I enjoy the familiarity of many of the running routes as well as discovering new and interesting places which being part of a club affords us the opportunity to do. Our members are very supportive and encouraging regardless of ability or age and I am incredibly grateful to all who have helped me on my journey in to running in recent years. As Social Secretary I strive to organise fun and inclusive events where club members can let their hair down and celebrate both their own successes and that of ELR as a whole.
Webmaster Derek WrightThe club's man behind the curtain. Formerly a dedicated club runner, he is taking a break to look after his young family. He keeps fit by cycling 100 miles per week as a commuter. email - info@eastlondonrunners.org.uk
Newsletter Editor Tricia O'Neill I joined East London Runners (ELR) in 1991 and have been a member ever since. I was humbled to learn, some years ago, that I had been awarded life membership for commitment and dedication to our great club. I have watched ELR grow over the years into what it is today; an all-inclusive, friendly, supportive and competitive running club. I enjoy being part of the committee and look forward to promoting the achievements of 2021.
Newsletter Publisher Aaron Williams Aaron was elected to the committee in 2022, and took on the role of Newsletter Publisher in 2024.
Morag Campbell I've been a member of the club since 2014 and really got into my running in 2021, but was out injured for most of 2022 and missed the club. As I'm slowly coming back to running I wanted to give back to the club that has given me so much, so I joined the committee in 2023.
Becky Evans I joined ELR in 2018 and it has become a big part of my life. I had a brief stint on the Committee from 2020-21 and I'm back to help out wherever I can.
Ian Mackie One of my first road running events was organised by ELR in the 1980s, but regrettably I didn't get around to joining the club until July 2021. I started running regularly again in 2019 after a gap of about 20 years. This friendly club, where all ages and abilities can mix, has been so welcoming and has encouraged me to train and take part in a variety of road and cross country races. I joined the committee in 2023 to try and give something back and help others.
